Everyone has a story, and before we make our own conclusions and jump into judgement, we should listen to it. We’re called to love others as ourselves, so, when we love people, we also help them. This woman was sitting on a bridge in Paris, ignored by everyone except those who stopped to pet her rabbits. I asked if I could take a picture of her because I wanted to capture something that could tell a story. The marks on her skin and her beautiful blue eyes looking into the distance can only make me wonder and imagine what this woman has been through and what chain of events brought her here, to this bridge, in Paris, in the year 2017. After I took the photo, I gave her everything I had in my pockets and left satisfied, because I had been able to capture a beautiful moment, but also full of empathy and sad because I couldn’t do more for her.
