One of the biggest factors in monarch decline is the increasing scarcity of its only caterpillar host plant: milkweed. Without milkweed, monarchs can’t successfully reproduce and the species declines. By planting milkweed in your own garden, landscape and throughout your community, you can help reverse the fortune of these beautiful insects. This is not only a beautiful flower and magnificent seed pod when it burst open, but it can help save the Monarchs.

Incredibly beautiful foto!!! The lighting and clarity is absolutely amazing!!! So sad about the decline of the milkweed....just proves that everything depends on the success of the other...I believe this was the plan.... ❤

This reminds me so much of a shot my Dad printed out very large for me years ago - I just love Milkweed pods - sometimes in the past I would collect them and paint them for 'crafts'. Love them in Harvest Arrangements. Beautiful - and agree with your points addressed. Bit Subdivisions all over North America and the constant eliminating of this plant that many municipalities have deemed evasive - what a shame for the Monarchs - they too are wonderful Pollinators!!
