Evening light, strong shadows to define forms and my poor little camera cannot cope with such a tonal range. So I used the possibilities available to make this tree black so the background rocks would expose correctly. Also these rocks are in a park and have been photographed many times and i was looking for something new to say, the 'tensiveness', the contrasts between tree and rocks. Here i have chosen one main character in front and several linked supporting ones in the background. We can look at the tree in all its complexity or look through to the rocky objects in the background that give an important thematic reality to this image.
