Where is this.....what is this? Love the angularity, the somewhere, nowhere look, the composition is fantastic. Well done!

Taken inside the Kamloops Central Library. The interior of the building is mainly grey and steel. This worked well to enhance the imagery of a black & white photo.

Behind The Lens

Location
Taken in the interior of the Kamloops Central Library. In the central lobby there are stairs and walkways on multiple levels, going up, across and around. It all makes for a great image.
Time
Mid day around 12:30 PM.
Lighting
It was all natural lighting coming in from above and all sides of the subject area.
Equipment
I used a Nikon D810 camera with a Sigma 24-35mm f/2 lens. Due to limited light, and not having a tripod available, I balanced the camera on a hand railing to give me the stability needed to keep the camera from moving over the exposure period (1/60 sec.).
Inspiration
Their was a lot structural steel in the subject area - stairs, stairwell, and building members.
Editing
To give the picture a super wide angle view, I post processed the image in Lightroom by changing the characteristics of the lens from 24-35mm (which it was) to a super wide angle lens. Then I added clarity and contrast adjustments to further boost the image.
In my camera bag
When I go out on a planned photo shoot I normally carry all of my photo equipment with me - including a Nikon D810 body, Tamron 70-200 mm G2 f/2.8 telephoto lens, Sigma 24-35mm f/2 wide angle zoom, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 fixed focal lens and a Manfrotto tripod.
Feedback
When I am inspired by a specific subject matter, I generally try to look at the area from multiple view points and then determine which will lead to the most interesting perspective. And then I determine what, if any, post processing softwares and techniques can benefit the picture to obtain the image that I saw in my mind's eye when I took the image.
