Location
The photo was taken around Durbar Square in Kathmandu, Nepal, during my last trip there.Time
Just before 9 am, which means before the sun rises too much and the light becomes too hard.Lighting
I was lucky to have a nice light. Not as soft as I'd like to, but certainly not too hard. Just nice.Equipment
Taken with a Nikon D3 and my trusty 70-200 f2.8 zoomInspiration
The Sadhus are usually just amazing and so photogenic. They obviously are a very interesting subject for someone like me who like taking photos of people, and street photography.Editing
Some post-processing work, all done in Lightroom. First cropping to fill the frame with the face of the subject. Then, regular tone adjustment, including some brush work for dodging and burning. A little vignette to finish. Again, nothing heavy during the post-processing and all done in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I usually only have one camera and one or two zoom lenses. It actually depends on what my purpose is and where I'm going.Feedback
Difficult to say -- be at the right place at the right time, and hope for a good light. This is the start. After, hope for a good subject to show up. This being said, it is important to be ready, with the camera properly set because when the subject does come by, you have less than one sec to capture the shot or miss it.
