This shot was taken on my last night in Scotland. I met up with an extremely talented local landscape photographer (Chris Marr) and he took me to this location for sunset. Oh my word did we get a treat! a cracking end to an amazing adventure in the Scottish Highlands.

Location
I shot this photo in the Glen Etive area in Scotland with a great local photographer called Chris Marr.Time
We arrived at the location about an hour before sunset and this shot was taken as the sun dipped under the horizon.Lighting
This was one of those days where it was hard particularly to judge whether there would be any good light as there was quite a lot of cloud around. It all seemed to make way right at the vital moment and the sky went crazy.Equipment
As always i was shooting with my Nikon D750 with my favourite landscape lens (14-24mm f/2.8) all mounted on my tripod with an ND4 and 0.9 soft grad.Inspiration
I was led here by Chris and he had showed me what to expect from previous shoots here. I spent the first hour finding compositions in the water (knee deep at times) and as the light started getting good i looked through my shots and decided that this composition was my favourite then returned to this spot for the crazy sky show.Editing
I used basic editing techniques in lightroom just playing with contrast and shadows, i actually took some saturation out as with added contrast it started to look unrealistic and not how it looked to the eye at the scene. I also focus stacked the foreground in photoshop as i like my whole image to be in focus. In my camera bag
I never leave the house without my filters in my bag, i feel that i can do so much more when i have them at my disposal.Feedback
Never give up when waiting for good light, there were times when this looked liked nothing was going to happen at all. You really have got to be in it to win it.
