Church Rock - In a cascade of light, between the shadows of clouds, which tried to obscure the beautiful formation from the fading light of the evening sky; I was lucky enough, to have the opportunity to take this photograph.
- My Brother and I; we were out hiking in the park, since early morning... Exploring the many trails, and views offered from the top of Pyramid, and Church rock.
At the end of the day, we waited for "Good lighting, " to photograph "The entirety" of Church Rock, in this general vicinity.
We had about an hour of light left... But... we were, a least two hours away from the car... !
Given the varying terrain of canyons and gullies, an entire view of the formation wasn't always visible. We found this prime spot, but it was getting late and couldn't wait there forever...
Finally, the clouds parted for a moment, revealing the most prominent features and colors.
I fired off a couple of shots, turned on multi-stop bracketing,...
I double checked the exposure, and "clicked" this image; then the formation was once again covered in shadows.
Now, it was time to head back to the car... :(
