This iguana paused to stare me down mid-meal.
Iguanas in North America can grow up to
6 Ft. and 20 Lbs,. are quite good swimmers and dig burrows on land with sharp claws up to 5 inches in length.
Iguanas are omnivores and will eat nearly anything in sight. The undiscriminating hunger of this reptile, has a jaw that contains up to 70 small serrated teeth, that can slice a finger to the bone if your digits get in the way of their meal.
Iguanas usually do not attack unless provoked. Despite their size and awkward posture, these creatures are surprisingly fast and agile.
It is suggested you keep a safe distance from them.
This photo was taken about 15 Ft. away with a 300 mm lens.
If you are bitten by an Iguana, you are going to be in need a first aid kit and - or an unexpected visit to the hospital.
Google " iguana bites" and, you'll find more than a few photos of gnarly wounds on unsuspecting victims who got too close.
Other than crocodiles, this about as close a seeing a Dinosaur as humans will get.

The make-or-break of closeup images like this is perfect depth of field and focusing… you nailed it in this great portrait. This guy should be forever in your debt for immortalizing him so majestically.
Fabulous work !!

This is probably my favorite of your images. As said previously, perfect DOF, sharp detail and colors. Perfect framing... it has it all!
