That last, almost nonexistent, afterglow

Once the sun completely disappeared behind the thick blanket of clouds, we were losing light fast. Everything was slowly turning pale grey. A hint of sunset glow lingered in the far distance over the horizon but it would be also gone soon. The park street lights came at the top of Cabrillo Bluff. The lighthouse located at the park also would soon shine its light into the dimming ocean soon. As the sky got grim, the rockshore got busier with the intense tide coming in. It was definitely time to go for that last, almost nonexistent, afterglow before packing up and leaving.
