View of mountain range
It was quite incredible to see that the view from the top of Half Dome reached as far as Twin Peaks and Mt. Conness. It meant that we were looking at the end of the west side of the mountain range. If Tenaya Peak weren’t blocking the view, we would’ve seen more! It was hard to grasp the idea that there was Mono Lake nestling right behind those mountains. And then, Mt. Hoffmann and Tuolumne Peak created a mountain skyscraper on the left, and the aforementioned Tenaya Peak and Cockscomb sat behind the magnificent Clouds Rest on the right. Right in front of us, Mt. Watkins sat as if it was guarding Tenaya Canyon. It was great to see Snow Creek Falls flowing nicely. What a view! And we were going to hike both Mt. Hoffmann and Clouds Rest in the next couple of days.
