This was the first day we saw the sun in Iceland after driving around in the snow, sleet and rain for a few days. We took a trip to the Glacier Lagoon on the South East of the Island and saw some incredible sites. This chunk of ice that had broken off the glacier had floated down the lagoon and landed on the beach to melt away a few months later. It was bitterly cold on this day and about 3pm when this photograph was taken, just before the sun took an hour and a half to set. It is hard to describe the colours in the ice, going from memory, this is as close to what I saw that day.
