I adore this! I love the focus, subject, composition, and snowy atmosphere. Just gorgeous! This would make a beautiful Christmas card for the holidays. Stunning work Anne!

what a lovely tribute to Glenda!!!! Reminds me of the 'Polar Express' - This actually would look great as a Christmas Card or still very effective printed and framed!

I love the tranquil snow falling on the powerful train engine. Wonderful dichotomy and use of delicate colors!

The photo was taken at a small museum close to my home ... Simcoe County Museum in Ontario Canada , although very small it is hosts to a great number of old vehicles and this old train with a piece of railway trackingTime
it was taken in late afternoon on a grey day at the end of summer beginning of fall ... there was no snow on the ground and finding the perspective was very hard with out getting pieces of building and fence or other distractionsLighting
it was in natural light outdoors , the sky was grey and diffused but a bit dark so I had to up the ISO to 200Equipment
I used the canon T6i and my 10-20 sigma lense ... there was no tripod or other equipment needed , it was a small place and we didn't have much time to explore . Next time we will carry full gear and go much earlier to give us time to do moreInspiration
I walked around the train a few times trying to get a decent perspective , I took quite a few shots but this one was the best angle so that I could see most of the train ... it also reminded me of the story Polar Express and this is why I decided to use this photo ...Editing
I used Lightroom infrared to make the photo appear there was snow around , I then took it into photoshop and played with topaz lens effect and topaz texture effects and smart photo editor to complete the final look .. .it was a bigger project then I normally challenge myself with but was pleased with the outcome ...In my camera bag
I carry two cameras both canon ( T6i and the T5i) , 10-20 sigma lens, canon 300 lens, 18-55 kit lens , sigma 120-400 lens cleaning equip, tripods, mini pods, unipods ... ring light, batteries, lens filters and shutter release cordFeedback
Play with light and angles of all kinds , perspectives are important and so is practicing with all your settings .... try to have a vision while shooting of what you want to accomplish and learn as much as you can about editing , there are some amazing products and programs to play with and most important enjoy and have fun with all your shots .
