Solitude in the wilderness

Wherever I looked, I saw no markings or footprints. No one hiked this trail recently. To add suspense to the mix, the trail disappeared on me at times. It certainly alerted me to look for where the trail picked up, and I continued my way. Navigation skills were essential in this part of the park. True backcountry, I’d say. True wilderness. Water was abundant here. It ran from the higher ground to the lower, and eventually it was gathered to create a lake.
