Pumpkin Knight

behind the lens badge

I've never seen pumpkins used to build something before. Very cool. Taken at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Behind The Lens

Location

Denver Botanical Gardens.

Time

Nighttime of course!

Lighting

This was more of a candid shot since I felt like a sardine being pushed through a line of people.

Equipment

Sony NEX 7 Camera with a 18-200 lens. No flash.

Inspiration

I don't think I've ever seen a pumpkin sculpture like this. I thought it was unique, different and imaginative!

Editing

Mostly I am a minimalist when it comes to post-processing so I use the basic areas in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Depending on the trip, I take my newer Sony a 6300 crop sensor with a 24-320 lens. But when I am doing night time, or wildlife, I also take my Nikon D600 with my 18-24mm wide angle and Tamron 70-600 lenses.

Feedback

For 99% of night shots you need a tripod. Some cameras have a built in light setting with antiblur or shake like my Sony. It shoots in a burst and stacks the photos automatically making it one shot. I believe this is what I did with this shot but I don't remember!
