Every year we spend a week in the Yucatan, exploring Mayan ruins, swimming, eating ourselves silly. We aren't resort people - we love to sort of fly by the seat of our pants. Our trip this past week included everything from GIANT tarantulas, to the most amazing array of rainbows ever - EVER. This lake has a "rainbow problem" and they come out again, and again, and again - every time the sky changes, the clouds move, or some rain blows through. The lake changes by the moment, and I could watch it all day. I cannot wait to return to Laguna Bacalar every year. Now that we've found it, one of these days we may never bother coming back...
