Location
This image was captured at a local botanical garden. At the time there was a special display of glass sculptures.Time
The image was capture at midday.Lighting
The location of the sculpture was in open shade provided by a number of trees that surrounded the sculpture.Equipment
I used my Nikon D750 with a Tamron 24-70 mm f2.8. This is my workhorse of a setup.Inspiration
When I see items such as this sculpture, capturing a portion always comes to mind. I look for a piece that will really stand out, and think of how to edit it differently than anyone else. Everyone else that I've seen capture this sculpture show it in color. I did not want to be like everyone else. I love showing things around us in a way that makes people stop and try to figure out what is in the image. This is exactly what has happened when displaying the picture.Editing
The image was captured in a RAW format. During my post-processing the image was edited in LR & PS then converted to B&W. This was done in order to accentuate the texture of the glass. As well, the image was cropped down in order to have the entire frame to shown nothing but the sculpture. In my camera bag
In my bag you will normally find my Nikon D750, Tamron 24-70 mm f2.8, Tamron 70-200 mm f2.8, Nikon 85 mm f1.8, and a Godon AD200.Feedback
I would suggest looking at everything around us. There is so much to see, and if you show just a small part it will turn out to be an incredible image. It could be things in nature, a sculpture, or a car in a junkyard. Showing a small piece of something larger is a great way to show your vision of the world around us.
