Location
I was fortunate to capture this image at the International Peace Fountain in downtown Atlanta, GA. Hard not to find a good location in the urban core of Atlanta.Time
I capture the image at approximately 11:00 am on a Sunday morning. It was an overcast day with a consistent mist in early February. Even though we are in the south it does get a little chilly.Lighting
All of my shots for the day including this one were with available light. Even with the overcast day, there was plenty of light to create great images.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D750, along with my Tamron 24-70 mm F2.8. I love this set up for most of my work, especially when doing street scenes.Inspiration
The model has a 60's & 70's vibe, not to mention she channels the personality of Stevie Nicks. This along with the backdrop of the fountain brought my vision together of a classic fashion shoot.Editing
I processed the image in LR for some basic edits to exposure and contrast. Then the image was converted into B&W. I love portraits like this in B&W. When given a choice I will tend to go to B&W especially to create a more dramatic feel.In my camera bag
In my bag, I always carry my Nikon D750, Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 & Tamron 70-200mm f2.8. I don't leave home without it! Depending on what type of shoot I'm doing you could also find a Nikon SB 700 speedlight for off-camera lighting. When walking around, I try not to have too much to weigh myself down.Feedback
I always tell people to have ideas in your head of images that you would love to capture. It's only a matter of time when the opportunity will present itself to you. That is what happened to me with this image.
