At my cousin's wedding in New Jersey. It was part of the table's centerpieceTime
Evening, inside the reception hall.Lighting
This was one of the rare occasions where I did use specific lighting. In this case, I used an LED lens ring to illuminate the shot without glare.Equipment
My Canon T2i, a macro lens, and my LED ring light.Inspiration
I loved the bubbles against the flower petal. It was absolutely fascinating to me and I felt it would make a unique wedding photo for my cousins. They had hired their own professional but I figured a different eye would be nice.Editing
As always, I try to do as little post-processing as possible. From what I recollect, I merely cropped this photo to remove lens distortions from the macro lens and adjusted the lighting/color as little as possible. In my camera bag
My Canon T2i, a kit lens, a telephoto lens, a macro lens, a collapsible lens hood, a dozen microfiber cleaning cloths, about six different filters, back up SD card, spare batteries, remote control, and business cards.Feedback
I'm lazy in that I really should be using a tripod set up to take macro images but 95% of my macro shots are done handheld only. My advice for other lazy people is hold your breath before taking a macro shot. It helps keep the lens still. Prop your hands whenever possible. And shoot like a hundred images of the same subject, take multiple angles, change lighting and shutter speed. But keep taking the shot.
