I was there, holding him. And I'm still stunned by the beauty of this shot. You can find Rafi and his herd by searching social media for Saving Rafi. Come join the preservation project family!

This is actually one of the rarest horses in America. I am working with his owner to help her rescue program by raising funds to help him. You can read all about it on the East West Equestrian Arts website.Editing
This is one of the rare times when I did do some significant post-processing. His owner was standing near him, trying to duck down out of the shot. I used Photoshop to erase her from the image. In my camera bag
Canon T2i, kit lens, macro lens, telephoto lens, a couple of filters, a dozen or so lens cleaning cloths, back up SD card, some batteries, collapsible lens hood, and business cards.Feedback
I must have taken a hundred shots of this beast in that field. It was so lovely a day and the light was hitting his coat just perfect. The contrast between him and the yellow soybean leaves. Just so much fun, taking shot after shot - playing with distance, angle, movement. That's my advice - be eyes open to the shot before you and keep shooting as much as possible.
