Diamond Dreams

This image was made during our trip to Warner Mountain Lookout. It really did feel like watching a dream. Getting up early each morning to go out shooting was a pleasure as I could literally step out the door of a warm building into a winter wonderland. On this particular morning, as you can see the low hanging clouds shrouded Diamond Peak and created a misty glow around the mountain. It was very interesting to watch the scene unfold around me and started with a mountain and valley that was crystal clear to slowly being enveloped by the mist and clouds. I set up for this composition and watched the whole thing unfold, making this image along the way. It was a pretty cool experience and interesting in that each day had something different an unique. From this, to crazy blowing snow and wind then one day crystal clear. Just goes to show you that you never know what to expect in the mountains during any season of the year, especially wintertime.
