This is an image from Annaberg, an old sugar plantation and windmill on St. John US Virgin Islands. It was a fun place to explore during a trip there last year and from what I read one of the largest mills on the entire island during its time. While we were walking around it felt a little bit like a scene from a fairy tale with the history of the place obvious. I went back and revisited some of my older photos recently and came across this series, which I was able to process differently than I had in the past, to result in a more painterly feel more true to my artistic vision.
