The wreckage of the SS Monte Carlo. This was a gambling and prostitution ship that was anchored a couple of miles of the coast of San Diego in the 1930's. In 1937 the ship broke anchor in a storm and drifted onto the shore in Coronado. Once it touched land it became illegal and there it has sat ever since then. Once in a while a big El Nino storm will pull more sand away from this site and you will be able to see more of the ship. Either way the best time to see it is at a negative low tide.
