I took this photo at the HRE Wheels "Open House". The "Open House" is an even that is free to the public and occurs every year around June at HRE Wheels headquarters in Vista California. This is from the "Open House" in June of 2016. At the event many people showcase their cars in and around the property. Some ultra rare cars are also showcased, usually inside the warehouse. This year the SVF1 was showcased and I really liked the look of all those pipes and hardware.Time
This was taken in the afternoon, but that doesn't really matter since this was in a warehouse with very bad lighting conditions.Lighting
Large overhead fluorescent lighting illuminates the inside of the warehouse, so it is not the best lighting situation.Equipment
Sony A7ii with the Sony FE 50 mm f/1.8 lens. I don't think I used a tripod, it was a couple of years ago so its hard to remember. It is also hard to shoot with a tripod because so many people are walking around the area, it is possible to use a tripod just not as practical.Inspiration
I really liked the look of the back of the car exposed with all the pipes and hardware adding complexity to the scene.Editing
I processed the image in color and then converted it into black and white with Silver Efex Pro 2In my camera bag
My equipment had greatly expanded over the years. I usually always have a wide angle lens attached to one Sony A7 body, right now its my Sony 12-24 f/2.8 and my Sony A7R4. Then I usually have a telephoto attached to another Sony Body. Sometimes its just a 70-200 f/2.8 right now its the 200-600 mm G lens attached to my Sony A9 sometimes with the 1.4X TC attached as well for shooting bird photography. I usually carry a remote for my camera, a filter system with polarizer and 6 stop filter ( although I don't use it as often as I thought I would). I also have some lens cloths and a blower, and a bag carrying my extra batteries. It all depends on what I am planning to shoot that day.Feedback
Get out there and have some fun. Find events that are going on in your area so that you can practice shooting with your camera rig and learn what does and does not work for your vision.
