Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my home in Malaysia. I am an amateur photographer and a self taught through magazines and online reading.

Time

That was a fine morning, I woke up at 8 a.m. suddenly my mood took me to capture a nice shot. I turned around and I saw a nice peacock feather that stick on my wall for a decorative purpose. So I decided to put some water droplets on it and capture a nice macro. That capture was become one of my best shot.

Lighting

No other extra lighting was used for this memorable shot. The rich, warm and early morning sunlight was enough for the glittering and creative effect.

Equipment

This photo was shot on NIKON D3100 with 18-55mm f/305-5.6G VR lens. Moreover, no other special equipment was involved in this shot.

Inspiration

I have always had a great interest in macro photography because of the colors that involve in that specific photo. Besides, after I joined ViewBug I always get inspired from other photographers who always took macro. In that fine morning, after i saw that beautiful colorful peacock feather that contains emerald, turquoise, plum/purple, cobalt blue and yellow-cast neutrals, I decided to take a macro photo that describes the beauty of colors.

Editing

In this shot i never use any post-processing.

In my camera bag

First thing first, of course my Nikon D3100 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G VR lens. Always remember to bring an extra battery for in case. Furthermore, my tripod is a must.

Feedback

The most important thing for a photographer is patience. Patience is the key for a best and successful photographer. Never ever loose hope if we cannot get the perfect shot. Always remember the atmosphere around us. Same goes to me when i took this magnificent photo of my life and felt very proud when it comes beautiful. Wait for the perfect moment to capture something unique.
