How to gently but firmly say "No" in lion language? Lions commonly rub the top part of their heads together when they greet after an absence. This is the only time I ever saw a lion grimace at another during greeting, clearly sending the message that she was not interested. The photograph was taken in the Gir forest in India, the only place that wild Asian lions existed at the time. The female on the left is the mother of the very much an adult female on the right.
