This photo was taken in my front yard. Was in a more shaded part of the yard, one day it wasn't there and the next it was. I'm a self taught photographer attempting to capture some piece of natures beauty for all to enjoy.Time
This is one of my favorite images, as i took the dog out for a play in the yard,i caught a glimpse of the mushroom which i hadn't seen before, I loved the look about it and just had to capture a shot. It was taken approx 4.30pmLighting
The light was all natural, the sun was getting lower in the sky, which helped cast some shadows which only enhanced the mood giving it that dreamy look.Equipment
I used a Nikon D5300, with a NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G @ 200mm F/11 1/100 ISO-1000 and a UV filter. Hand heldInspiration
I have seen some beautiful and very intriguing captures of fungi, and thought i'd love to capture one myself. When i came across this mushroom in my yard, i really liked the look of it and just had to take that shot.Editing
I had to clone in some little white flowers as the were only a couple in the original raw photo, enhanced the hue/saturating for extra colourIn my camera bag
I only have 1 camera so far, so I have the Nikon D5300, with a NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G and a Nikon 50mm 1.8g. Tripod, Shanny SN910EX-RF speed light, ND filters, Polarising filters and UV filter, i also carry 2 batteries, a remote, a lens cleaning pen and a micro fiber clothFeedback
I here that patience is a virtue in certain photography, but with fungi/mushrooms, you can have one pop up within 48 hours. If you like the subject and search for them in certain spots you know they grow, always take a second look in a day or so. For me i like the natural light low in the sky allowing for the shadows and softer look, in addition creating a nice mood around the capture.
