I took this photo at Sea World Aquarium on the Gold Coast in the under water viewing pointTime
It was a bright, sunny day , 12.30pm,Lighting
The day was sunny which allowed the natural light to penetrate the water.Equipment
This was shot hand held, with a Nikon D5300 with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II lens and a UV filterInspiration
Whilst at the viewing point, this fella caught my eye, he was in a hunt like mode. This somehow reminded me of the days of Jaws, so there was no doubt i had to have a shot of this predatorEditing
I used LIghtroom but I didn't do to much post processing, slight crop, lifted highlightsIn my camera bag
I only have 1 camera so far, so I have the Nikon D5300, with a NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G and a Nikon 50mm 1.8g. Tripod, ND filters, Polarising filters and UV filter, i also carry 2 batteries, a remote, a lens cleaning pen and a micro fiber clothFeedback
Patience can be your friend,. I would definitely walk a bit and scout the area for good positions and see whats generally happening There is always lots of different fish there, but if you take your time and just observe for a while, there will always be something there that will catch your eye. Then it's being patient again until it swims right where you want it, but this could take some time. Trust your eyes and your instinct and you will know when a good shot presents. So if your not doing a specific photo shoot, the Best advice i could give, is to always have it ready to shoot.
