Location
This photo was taken during a roadtrip through the US, mainly Colorado, South Dakota and Wyoming.Time
This image was taken around noon, at a small village road. I can't remember the name of the village anymore, but I had to stop to take the picture of this abandoned building.Lighting
The lighting at that time of the day wasn't perfect but waiting for better light wasn't an option since this was in the middle of nowhere and the rest of the day has already been planned.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D800 with my Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8 at 200mm with ISO 400 and f/8 at a shutter Speed of 1/640Inspiration
There were a couple of abandoned buildings in the surrounding but this particular one seemed really interesting to me. With the shadows of the old roof in front of the building and the old decaying tree, it seemed that I had to take that picture.Editing
Usually I do quite a bit of post processing, but in this particular case I just enhanced the sky a bit to make the clouds look more interesting and to complement the look of the building. Other than that I just color corrected it a bit.In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D800 and most of the time my Nikkor 105mm Macro, since I do a lot of macro shots. Other than that I usually carry my 24-70 2.8 and my 70-200 2.8 which are both wonderful lenses for landscape as well a portraits. Sometimes I just carry a Nikon 28-300 when I don't have the luxury to carry a lot of stuff.Feedback
There are lot's of remote areas in the US. Some of them are en route to the national parks if you don't take the highway. Always watch out for unexpected opportunities for pictures.
