Image 2-4 in my Quod Me Nutrit Me Destruit Project Series. Of all the shots I have taken or plan to take, this one is the most important to me. It was most directly influenced by the events which inspired the entire photography project, and furthermore, the words on the biding are excerpts from my owe poetry, works I've had censored or are about censorship in the past.

This was taken in my home studio…by which I mean, my house.Time
It was taken during the evening/early night hours, but in this case, because all the lighting is artificial anyway, the time it was shot is kinda irrelevant.Lighting
Like I mentioned, the picture was shot in my house, at night, and all of the lighting is artificial. I went to some lengths to eliminate natural lighting from this picture actually, because I hopped it would save me time in editing later if I managed to set the light just right during the actual shot. (Spoiler alert, that didn’t happen and I spent a fair bit of time adjusting the light dying the development phase)Equipment
To take this, I used a canon rebel ti5 with a Tameron zoom lens, a manifroto tabletop tripod, ceiling lighting, a flash, a timer, and photoshopInspiration
This is the second photo I took in what has been one my “quod me nutrit, me destruit” series. All the photos in that collection are variations on the theme: “artists silenced by the tools of their own trade” This shot was meant to convey the writer artist.Editing
Oh lord, did I ever. I’m a photoshop addict, and I took hundreds of shots in order to get this photo, and ended up blending a few of them in order to get the effect I wanted. In my camera bag
Hmm, my canon ti5, my Nikon fm10, a spare lens, a spare sd card, an sd reader, a flash, a table top tripod, and extra filmFeedback
Take a bunch of shots, especially if you’re shooting with a digital camera. You can always delete later, but you can’t make up for something you miss
