Location
I shot this photo while coming back from a walk in my neighborhood. The sun was coming up and the shape of this dandelion was almost perfect! The purple in the background are spring violets.Time
I like to take walks in the neighborhood early in the morning, just after the sun is over the horizon. I've learned to take my camera with me because every walk could present a photo.Lighting
The morning sun coming up in the East presented the perfect "flashlight" for the dandelion.Equipment
I literally got down on my knees and leaned in with my Nikon D7200; nothing fancy, hand held, no flash.Inspiration
I was inspired to take the photo because I had seen similar macro photos on Viewbug. I'm new to photography and am learning as I go along. Since joining Viewbug I've learned a lot about myself and my style. I am working towards learning more about macro photography. It's my favorite style!Editing
I cropped the photo so it was closer. I also may have brightened it up just a bit so the core of the dandelion showed up better. In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D7200 with a prime 50 mm lens. I also carry a 55 mm-300 mm Nikon zoom lens. Other than this, I have a slim extension tube for getting closer to my subjects. My bag has room to grow. At the time of this photo - I was using a 50 mm lens.Feedback
Advice? Keep shooting and view, view, view others photography on Viewbug. Viewbug is a great sight to see and learn from others! Before Viewbug I didn't know how far photography had come since the simple family and yard photos. I wasn't aware of macro, post processing, or the various types of creative photography that have evolved over the years. I shoot thousands of photos every month and continue to learn the more I shoot. No one ever starts out great, but they can become great over time if you practice and learn from on-line sites like Viewbug. Happy Shooting!
