Congrats on the Faith awards....very well deserved. Beautiful shot. The sunlight caught through the steeple give an atmosphere of mysticism, most appropriate for "Faith"

Location
The image was taken at Normanton church museum Oakham which is situated on the south-shore of Rutland Water. The church is often used for weddings, other events including of course, lots of people who just want to visit this beautiful location. I am relatively new self taught photographer who has been taking photos now for a year.Time
This is probably one of my top favourite images, I had never been to Rutland water before but had heard much about this beautiful location. I visited the location with my husband around 14.00 in the afternoon. We took a pleasant stroll on the footpaths around the reservoir until we found this beautiful church. Immediately, I knew I wanted to come back later as the sun was setting. At approximately 20.30 I left my husband close to the carpark and walked back to the church. I waited for the exact moment to take the image.Lighting
In my minds eye I wanted the image to reflect a tranquil, peaceful place by using natural light of the beautiful sunset to reflect through the church steeple and catch the shadows through the water. I watched the sun crossing the sky as it was going down. I knew I only had a short space of time to catch the image. I moved my tripod on numerous occasions before I was happy I had the exact spot.Equipment
The image was taken on a Canon EOS 70D 1/1600 sec. f/5.6 90 mmInspiration
I love sunsets and landscapes. I was inspired to take this image by the sheer beauty of the churches tranquil setting with such a beautiful coloured sunset that day. The whole setting was so harmonious that it left me feeling happy and relaxed.Editing

I usually carry my faithful Canon EOS 70D camera with a couple of Canon lenses that include18-200mm, 20-200mm MK2. Depending what I want to do some times I will carry a macro lens. I always take a tripod with me including speed lights.Feedback
Patience is a virtue, Be prepared, set up a tripod and camera well before sunset it can be a long wait. I often I go out hoping to catch the sunset in a perfect location without success. The sunset can fades out due to weather conditions or cloud movement. Sometimes the sun can set behind hills that can destroy a landscape image. My advice is to check sunset times before leaving home, its often later or earlier than you think. Research the location before you visit, this helps to prepare your traveling time and saves time looking for exact locations. If traveling by car, check car parks closure times, I know from experience, car park attendants will lock your car in after car park closure times. On the safety side, make sure someone knows where you are going, make sure you have plenty to drink and something to eat. I often go to take landscape images at high peak, where a beautiful day and sun set can turn to a cold windy night, so make sure you carry warmer clothes and a torch to see where you are going in the dark..
