Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo at Lake Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Corbin, KY.
Time
The photo was taken December 3, 2014. It was very cold & windy. My husband & I had just moved into our new home, and our furniture did not arrive until later that month. We did a lot of driving around and sightseeing at this time to keep busy until our household goods arrived.
Lighting
It was a bit cold & overcast that day, but I love photos with clouds. The more the better!!
Equipment
I used my Canon 7D for the shot, with a 18-135mm lens.
Inspiration
I am inspired by the natural light and beautiful location. Lake Cumberland Falls is a tourist attraction in the summer, but I had never seen it before. I thought it would be nice to see it in the winter time and without the crowds. It was so very peaceful.
Editing
Because it was such a cloudy day, I thought the photo needed a little added color boost, lighting & shading to bring out the clouds & beautiful rock formations.
In my camera bag
I don't travel with much any more since the theft of my equipment in 2012. I basically carry my 7D, the lens, tripod, a gradual neutral density filter, extra battery, charger & a cleaning kit.
Feedback
Shoot what inspires you!! Shoot anything & everything. Look for new ideas & enjoy the gorgeous view of the world around you.
