On my merry way out into the Wiltshire countryside I spotted this barn, it wasn't until on my return I stopped and had a look inside to find a big, very heavy round slab with the word "WELL" cast into it that it become apparent what this barn was all about. I had an American Midwest feel on looking at the construction and the way the soft light was playing upon it's weathered boards. I wanted to flatten the perspective without too much compression so I used a 50mm lens which on my 550d equates to 80mm, also I ramped my ISO up to 3200 which helps to add sharpness without lifting the contrast any. I love the feel of anonymity of this barn and wondered how many people have driven past hundreds of times without even noticing the beautiful shape and textures right there beside the road. In Lightroom I did nothing other than to add some tonal colour which reminds me of some thiocarbamide toners used back in my darkroom days. The camera used was a Canon EOS 550d the lens was the utterly exceptional Sigma 50mm F1.4 ART and these were mounted on Manfroto 055 carbon legs and Gitzo head. The settings were 1-250th of a second at F5.6 and ISO 3200
