On a bridge over a small burn in Ettrick where I walk my dogs of an evening I glimpsed a flash of brown and white, I stopped a while and discovered this dipper darting back and forth feeding young in the reeds. I came back shortly after with my camera and waited. After short while he returned to feeding the nest of young, stopping each time on a stepping stone to check for predators before approaching the chicks.
