Location
This photo was taken in Arizona, at a drive through wildlife park called Bearizona.Time
It was taken midday, but on a very cloudy, December day.Lighting
I remember being disappointed that the clouds were so heavy and the day so dark, but as I was watching the fox the sun found a way to peak through and wake the little guy from his nap. I was lucky to catch that little bit of light in his eye, in that brief moment that he looked up.Equipment
This was shot on the first day of an early Christmas gift to myself, an EOS REBEL SL1. Aperture: f/5 ISO: 200 Exposure: 1/320Inspiration
I really enjoy taking outdoor photos and love animals. So to have a new camera to play with and a cute napping fox it was a great time to experiment. The sun breaking through the clouds seemed to wake him and I was fortunate to have moved to the other side of him to catch the moment.Editing
I haven't invested in any editing programs yet. I fear that I might spend more time in front of the computer instead behind the lens.In my camera bag
EOS REBEL SL1, Zoom lens EF-S 18-55mm, wide angle lens, extra Battery pack, and lens cleaning kit. I found that the lighter my kit is, the more enjoyable it is to carry around. Too many lenses and extra equipment get cumbersome. I have a sturdy tripod I occasionally take along.Feedback
Dont be discouraged if the day or conditions aren't what you picture as a perfect day to photograph. It's usually those times that I take my best photos. I love outdoor photography, the opportunity to be outside and accept the precious moments and treasures that can be found if you are open to them. Sometimes imperfection can be perfection. Give yourself the opportunity to observe- without judging or overthinking the process- and enjoy the experience even if it isn't what you expected.
