Behind The Lens
Location
Taken at the Arboretum in Arcadia, California on a excursion with my husband and my two children. A nice day out to see the interesting plants - and of course the famous Peacocks that roam not only the property but the nearby residential areas.Time
This was late morning/early afternoon.Lighting
Just the natural lighting that the location provided.Equipment
Shot with my Canon 5D Mark II and nothing else. No time to set up shop when you are taking your young kids on an adventure!Inspiration
I have always enjoyed the Peacocks. They are truly magnificent creatures. Given the proper chance I would photograph them every day!Editing
Minor adjustments only.In my camera bag
If the bag even comes with me, there is another lens, my flash, though I hardly use it, extra batteries and not much else.Feedback
Having plenty of time is always a good idea, though I did not have all the time in the world for this shot. Don't be afraid to try different angles, kneel down, change the camera's orientation. Take portrait shots where you would normally use landscape and vice versa. Doing something unexpected can lead to something great.
