Location
On an exploration drive out in a town near where I lived that has some great old ghost town like buildings and plenty of open spaces, I found this scene playing out. I was with my kids so only had a few moments to capture the whole scene and was lucky enough to grab one of this bee coming in for a landing.Time
Mid afternoon is my best recollection.Lighting
All natural lighting.Equipment
Just my Canon 5D Mark II and the lens that pretty much lives on it.Inspiration
The great Ghost town appeal of the buildings I was exploring were the original inspiration, but who doesn't like taking pictures of busy bees?Editing
Some slight color correction is about everything that would have been necessary. In my camera bag
Am extra battery and lens, a flash, and that is about it. The more important question is if I even bring it, and the answer is usually: no.Feedback
Always be on the lookout for a great shot. Even with little time, you can usually find something pretty special if you remember to think big, think small and look all around!
