I was Walking the Static line of the 'Thunder over Michigan' air show early in the morning and took this picture of a beautiful Skyraider facing into the sun. I almost deleted it on the spot as it was extremely blown out, but I liked the composition and thought I would see what could be done with it on the computer. I was very pleased with the detail I was able to pull out. Thankfully I always shoot in RAW, if this had been taken in JPEG it would have ended up in the trash bin!

Excellent details, look and feel to this photo it has an almost vintage feel to it. The way you cropped it works well for this photo it helps in the story of the photograph, well done!

I love these old planes. Great composition and POV with the Skyraider. Beautiful use of light, shadows and angles. The exceptional detail in the folded right wing really helps give the story picture life. Well done!

Such an amazing machine! I didn't know the wings could fold with a full payload and the composition is beautiful too! Very well photographed.

Location
This photo was taken at the "Thunder Over Michigan" air show in 2013. It has always been one of my favourite places to be.Time
It was taken at around 9:30am as I walked around the static line looking at all the aircraft.Lighting
This shot was taken into the light and when I first checked it on the camera it looked un useable and I almost deleted it then and there, but I liked the composition and decided to hang onto it and see what could be done in post processing. I am sure glad I did!Equipment
This shot was taken with my Sony a77 with a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens.Inspiration
I loved the subject matter and the way the light was dancing off of it.Editing
This image was heavily processed. It was severely over exposed and I tried to pull out every bit of detail I could. This photo is proof that shooting in RAW format is beneficial. In my camera bag
Right now I have a Sony a99 and a77ii Camera bodies and several lenses. Sony 50mm f1.8, Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 70-200mm f2.8, Tamron 150-600mm f5-6.3.Feedback
