Thanks Rosemarie! It was window light only, 'under exposed' and processed with ACR

Behind The Lens
Location
This image was captured at the Louisiana Museum of Art, in Baton Rouge Louisiana - The capital city. An empty gallery / conference room.Time
Taken at about 2:30 in the afternoon and in doors.Lighting
The set up was specific to natural available lighting. The long group of almost floor to ceiling windows was perfect for indirect and flooding light on her. The quietness of her own elegant nature matched by the softness of the light wrapping her made for a perfect pairing. The room/gallery was selected intentionally for this series.Equipment
I shoot with Sony and always have since my first digital camera (a massive 4 MP!). Now I use a full frame Sony A7ii because of ease of use, the 5 point internal stabilization, and purity that even higher ISOs are rendered. I love to shoot hand held and braced against my body usually. Sony's allow me to do this. This image was so captured. All natural in light and feel. In the studio I use a quick release tripod and constant lights only when the available/natural light is unavailable - not a flash or strobe fan.Inspiration
Let's face this. Kate is lovely, right? I knew of the room at the LSU Museum of Art because I shoot events and exhibits for them. I knew the forecast for the day - high overcast clouds but bright. It was that perfect storm. And when we were doing the larger series, this one, where she was turned to the side, soft hair, with a dark background caused me to pause. The situation was the inspiration. It is like that old saying, the harder I work, the luckier I get.Editing
Post was almost nonexistent for this image. There was a piece of a 'personal' garment that I removed with PS CC 2015 patch/clone and adjusted the white balance with Adobe Camera RAW.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Sony A300 and my main camera the Sony A7ii. I have a camera case and lens caps, extra batteries and a spare memory card but little else.Feedback
I have been asked for advice from others to capture something similar. Here is what I say... Look for light! Where ever you go.... look at it! Maybe it is not for then, maybe it is not for a specific future, but always look. For there will come a time when your sub-conscience will leap forward and grab you by the eyes and say, "REMEMBER? We saw that soft-box of nature, we saw that hard spike of light, we saw that distant glow from the city lights behind that building, that Noir looking strip light thru the parking garage stairway window!" Be alive and be aware of your surroundings. Shoot bunches on hunches and it will all work out.
