"What I really loved about the image was how well everything flowed in the image. The dress fit well with the background, her hairstyle fit well with the dress, the angle of the pose fit well with the natural angles of the landscape and the color tones worked well with each other. I really liked how the dress was not pure white and that the artist let the dress take on some of the color cast of the environment. One of the other things I really liked about the image was the use of depth of field. I lot of time in a image like this the artist will open up so much that all you get are tones and you lose all the detail of the environment. In this case the artist went shallow enough to separate the subject but we still get the detail of the background to make out the trees and the branches, which really helps the image. I also love the directional light and the way the artist turned the subjects face to profile. Doing this they lit her perfect but at the same time was able to bring the light across her to bring out more detail in the dress and the headpiece. Super badass image!!!" - Craig Lamere

"This is great image. I love the center crop and how they used the perspective of the walls to frame. The movement of the dress and the smoke really add to the image and help it not to just be a static image. I also really like the way the hair of the subject is back off her shoulders. I lot of time with long hair people will move it to the front to show more hair and they end up losing the line of the neck an shoulder which compacts the subject." - Craig Lamere

Runner Up

"This is a great image for a number of reasons, the first being the impact of the image. As soon as you look at the image you are lead right to the subject by the leading lines of the tower. I really like the way the artist underexposed the image and used OCF to bring out the subject. A lot of times when underexposing and using OCF you get kind of a cartoon look, but I think it was really managed well in the image. The dress against the tower worked well and I also really like the pose." - Craig Lamere

Runner Up

"This really is a great black and white image. I really think it was a smart choice to convert to black and white. A lot of the time color images get too much going on and you lose focus. This image a great example of how black and white will focus your subject. I really like the line of the pose. I also like how the artist did not use a shutter speed that would completely freeze the image. I think the image is really helped with the motion blur of the dress." - Craig Lamere
