Blue (6 months old at the time) was much too active, for the most part, for me to get a good photo. In a brief moment of rest, he looked at me with those distinctive amber eyes and I knew I had to take a chance on him not racing away. Blue is a Newfoundland Dog, and his color is officially "bronze," more casually referred to as brown.Editing
I don't recall doing much. Probably cropped it a bit and maybe adjusted to reduce glare. Might have sharpened it slightly.In my camera bag
I don't often take my DLSR with me if I'm not on a photography walk. Most often I use my iPhone because it's always at hand.Feedback
You definitely have to be patient to get a good photo of an active puppy -- or just get lucky, like I did. This photo was taken early- to mid-afternoon -- not the best lighting situation. But working as close to the subject as possible can offset the sometimes overwhelmingly bright environment.
