Early morning, and I find myself awake whilst on holiday on the channel island of Jersey. I got my camera and headed to one of my favourite places for sunrises, St Aubin's harbour. I decided to go to the other side of the harbour from my usual place. I walked down the causeway from the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club that leads out to the fort. The tide was rising fast, so I set out to get the shot I wanted... I have often loved the granite stones that lie along the waters edge of this water. They are quickly swallowed up by the rising tide so I got set up as fast as I could. To create the peaceful scene I was looking for, I shot in between the harbour wall on my left and the fort on my right. The only thing you can see in the distance is a very faint St Helier and some boats. The beautiful orange, peach, and red hues filled the sky as to announce that the sun would soon be here. so I opened my shutter to get the gentle rising tide around the stones.
