Whilst on holiday in North Yorkshire, my family and I decided to go to Dalby Forest where I met up with fellow photographer and dear friend Paul McGuire. We decided to all go to the beautiful, picturesque village of Thorton-le-dale, with its lovely parks and walks. Just down from the centre of the town is a beautiful walk along the Thornton Beck stream. Along this walk is this beautiful 17th century Thatch Cottage which has been the on countless jigsaws, chocolate boxes and tins, not to mention calendars. In fact, it has been said that it is the most photographed cottage ever. So I set out to try and catch a view that is not commonly seen, which is probably an impossible task. I noticed that on the other side of the bridge from the main road, there was a slip way into the stream. I went to see the view from that side, and this is the scene I found. I must point out that when I took these shots, it was raining and very windy, hence the movement.
