This was a wonderful scene I came across on a sunny summer Michigan afternoon near a small lake ( Pentwater, MI). This dragonfly ( I believe...haven't found his true identity yet) was flying back and forth to this plant (know by common folks as a weed) and carefully taking off white parts of the top of this plant. This went on for several minutes and only when I enlarged the photo did I see the many colors on his wing including touches of red on his wings.
It was hypnotizing to watch him. I came back the next day and...
sadly found the 'weeds" were mowed down!!! Note to all photographers: grab the moment.. don't think you can come back to an interesting event..
