I've been following this Swan Family here in Michigan and have learned many things about how the parents care for their young cygnets. This is one of my favorite photo's because it was such a spectacular summer day and the therefore the lighting was terrific.(is one of my popular photo cards) These cygnets are " teenagers" now and get excited when the family returns a few times during the day to a "rest stop" between a break in the reeds along shore the Pentwater Lake. Here the cygnets are playful at times and then "preen" and "primp" their feathers before taking a nap.
