A favorite place and more driftwood back in 2015. Not only good for sunrises but also Milky Ways single image and 180 degree panos. This in 2015 when software for post were very limited.

Location
I took this photo at Driftwood beach on. Jekyll Island, Georgia.Time
I arrived before dawn but it was cloudy out so waited till 9:00 for sun to peak through the clouds so I could get contrast and shadows.Lighting
I only had a few minutes to take my shot before the sun disappeared again. The shadows make this dramatic and unearthly.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3100, ISO 100, Exposure 1/200. Hand held, no tripod.Inspiration
My daughter told me about Driftwood beach and I always wanted to go so planned a vacation around it. It was worth the trip.Editing
I enhanced the colors slightly. Didn't need to do a lot as the coloring was pretty great. In my camera bag
I always have a variety of lenses with me including telephoto and wide angle. I carry a tripod but seldom use it. Best advice is to pack extra batteries.Feedback
My advice would be to be patient and wait for your shot.
