Location
In our backyard "frog" and "flower" pond, mostly there for wildlife purposes. We always have a ton of frogs residing in the pond, and this particular one was my favorite at the time of photographing it.Time
Late morning, my Dad and Hubby were working on something construction related around the house, and I'd just gotten the Canon camera gifted to me from my father-in-law. While they worked, I went around photographing things in the yard hehe.Lighting
Somehow the lighting was perfect that day, nothing really special done for the photo shoot. I did have a UV filter on however, and was kneeling on ground right near the frog. The pond is fairly shady under the few trees there, so bright light but somewhat filtered.Equipment
UV Filter, Canon EOS, wide lens I believe was in use at the time - mid range view. Nothing else special used.Inspiration
The frog was majestic and just staring at me, seemed like a good photo opportunity.Editing
Minimal processing done in GIMP, contrast levels tweaked, minor lighting levels adjusted, sharpening applied. In my camera bag
If I care a bag, it generally has my EOS and Powershot cameras, some spare batteries, a battery charger, macro lens/midrange lens/telescopic lens, spare UV filter, lens covers, and a flash device.Feedback
Get as low to the ground and eye level with your subjects for the best compositions of this nature. Take several shots at once in case something goes wrong with the first image. Take a few shows prior to your chosen photographic subject to get the proper lighting levels, otherwise you may be sorely disappointed when you're done and the contrast or lighting was way off and photo isn't usable.
