Inspired by the colour and texture of the Celosia, I shot this using a 50mm fixed lens and extension tube, giving a shorter focal distance to achieve the macro shot. I was surprised I was able to isolate the flower so effectively using the flash considering it was such a sunny day! I was able to concentrate the flash on the flower by wrapping a magazine around it in a tube-like fashion.
