Self portrait - I am usually not a fan of selective colouring but felt it suited this shot. Using the flash as a slave, I set the sync to 1-250 second and stopped down to f22 in order to slightly catch the background, along with the sunflower, blacking out the rest. I used a high ISO setting and a loose focus to give it some deterioration in the detail, allowing me to over-apply the noise reduction to artistic effect. I recovered some highlights over the face and selectively lowered the exposure to ensure it matched the shirt. Finally, I increased the saturation of the colours, then enlarged the canvas size and recomposed the shot to emphasise the right-hand positioning and adding space to the centre and left of the frame.
