Location
This photo was taken in Okotoks Alberta. A small town that I grew up in my entire life.Time
This is actually one of my favorites because it was towards the end of winter. No snow left on the ground and barely any on the river; the access to the railway had to be accessed by climbing a fairly sleep bank, with the later afternoon approaching there were few people out and about.Lighting
I love the way 'Black and White' compliments structures. My lighting was slightly over exposed due to the sun and the ice however it complemented the photo nicely.Equipment
I am a huge Nikon fan! I have been using my D7000 for approximately 5 years now. To capture such a view of the bridge I used my 12-24mm Nikon lens.Inspiration
I love railways, trains and the outdoors. I have always been drawn to railways since I was a little girl, leaving pennies on the tracks so the train could run over them and I guess i still have the crazy obsessionEditing
The only post editing I have done to this image was creating it Black and White. In my camera bag
I have recently down sized my gear; I own a 400AW backpack with a 70-200mm a 50mm and a 18-24mm lens. I also carry two tripods (one is a monopod)Feedback
Be creative; break the rules, get down low and see the image from a different perspective. Play with Black and White settings it can really turn an image into a masterpiece. Stand back and few your surrounds, know what you want to include and where you want the viewers main focus to be.
